IDC study reveals the most in-demand phones in the world

A study by IDC for Graphic Analytics revealed that 73% of smartphones shipped during the current year 2020 cost less than $ 400.

According to the study, 60% of consumers preferred phones whose prices range from 100 to 400 dollars, and these devices were bought more in Latin America, the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

Interestingly, in the United States the demand for affordable phones increased from $ 200 to $ 400, from 20 to 27% compared to last year.

By the end of the second quarter of this year, the percentage of phones with a price category from 400 to 600 dollars reached 11.6%, and in China the sale of medium-priced phones was more active, and it increased from 8 to 21%.

Analysts expect that the demand for phones whose prices range from 100 to 400 dollars will increase, especially since the popularity of medium-sized phones that support 5G has begun to increase, and it is expected that the average price of these phones will reach 465 dollars in 2024.

And in another study by CANALYS, also analyzes, it expects shipments of smartphones that support 5G to reach 278 million shipments by the end of 2020.

The reason is that mid-range phones have come to support fifth-generation communication networks, especially after the production of dedicated processors from Qualcomm and MediaTech, and according to Canalys, 172 million 5G phones will be sold in China and the rest will be sold around the world.

And expectations indicate that the market for 5G phones will double by 2021, and twice the current amount will be available in the market, especially as the technology will cover larger areas around the world.

It is worth noting that the Chinese company Realme launched on September 1 the Realme V3 5G phone at only $ 250, which is the cheapest 5G phone in the world.
